Nature is deeply grounding, and it works wonders when we feel stuck. Simply being outdoors helps clear your mind, refreshes your perspective, and brings a sense of peace.
While we are still embracing our month of mental wellness, Floraltober’s theme can easily be brought to life by taking a mindful walk or spending time outdoors to notice the flowers on the prompts list (find it below) or start watching the Floratober 2024 Playlist without any YouTube Ads HERE.
Have you ever noticed how a short stroll among trees, in a grassy field or amongst the flowers makes everything feel just a little bit better? It's like pressing the reset button for our Souls to awaken!
Walking on grass reminds me of the scene where Julia Roberts takes Richard Gere out to the park to cop a squat. In that scene he takes off his shoes & walks on the grass... Shortly afterwards he changes his mind about a business deal by building boats with his new partner instead of breaking it all down.
Now, sometimes, even though we know what’s good for us, we still feel like we’re on a merry-go-round. And believe me, we’ve all been up high & down low too many times.
If you are sitting amidst a project, a future goal, or even just something ordinary but suddenly start feeling like things get too much or that you’re stuck, here’s the thing—there are some small, powerful habits that can ground us and help us gain clarity when we’re feeling off-track.
Let’s chat about a few of them in my "mom-voice"...
Honey, you have to Identify the Root Cause of your stuck-ness
When you're feeling stuck, it’s important to pause and ask yourself: Why do I feel like this? Is it fear? Overwhelm? Are you just unsure of what comes next? Sometimes, it’s something simple like feeling disconnected, and other times, it’s deeper. But the key is not to gloss over it. Getting to the heart of what’s holding you back is like shining a light on the problem, and once you see it, it’s so much easier to move forward.
Here’s a little exercise: When you feel stuck, grab a notebook and jot down everything that’s weighing on you. Don’t judge yourself—just write it down. It could be something as big as a career decision or as small as feeling tired of the daily routine. Whatever it is, seeing it on paper can help you pinpoint the root cause.
Once you feel better you'll be able to Start Small Tasks & Focus
When you feel overwhelmed or stuck, it’s easy to think you need to fix everything right now. Spoiler alert—you don’t. Instead, simplify. What’s one small thing you can do today to get the ball rolling? It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture; it could be something as simple as cleaning up your desk, writing that one email, or setting aside ten minutes for brainstorming.
Small wins matter. They build momentum, and before you know it, you’re in the flow again. I like to think of it like planting seeds. You don’t need to grow an entire garden overnight—just start with one little seed, and give it time to grow.
You are grounded! Get Outside!
Okay, that was a little loud🤣😉 All I'm saying is that you need to get back to nature... There are so many reasons to do so, but while we are in Floraltober, you get to use that as an excuse to embrace the outdoors & spot all the flowers on our list.

Spending time outside isn’t just good for your body, it’s like magic for our minds too. It feels like Nature gives us a hug to gently remind us of our real mission in life... Finding happiness.
Next time you’re feeling foggy, or stuck, take a quick walk. Even if it’s just around your block, focus on what’s around you. Notice the trees, the flowers, the sky. Give your brain a break from all the noise, and just be present. You’ll be amazed at how a little fresh air can shift your mindset.
Prevention is always better than cure So, Schedule Whatever You Must Do Before Procrastination Sets In
That way you'll have time to go outside & ground yourself. If your boss asks what's going on, why weren't you at your desk? Say this: "I was grounded & couldn't stay."
By prioritising the hardest thing first, we condition ourselves to sit down to do the work & not waste away your day with a never ending scroll through social media. Keeping your habits clean is like cleaning the kitchen. you need to do it or the rot will stink up the whole place & attract flies.
Just do the hard thing - Just do it!
Your Routines Become Your Most Powerful Strength!
I’ll leave you with this little idea...
If your are getting stuff done with routines in place you will have more time to break free from the bondage of the left-brain world. Getting things done is not your ticket to do more things, it is to free yourself & go outside to ground your mind, your body & reconnect with that deepest part of your heart. That will become your secret weapon against feeling stuck.
It is the small, positive habits that build your resilience, that gives you time to relax & helps you create a ripple effect of self-care in your life.
Whether it is for you; taking that morning walk, writing in your journal, or just taking time to breathe will be the little moments where mindfulness & careful consideration of the good things in your life come in to play. It grounds you in making decisions better, rejuvenate the senses & hear the voice of the Creator within...
They help you stay focused on what really matters you'll start feeling happier, more joyful & certainly more in the mood to face the world.
Place some trust in those little mindful habits by practicing them at least once a day. Be with yourself & your thoughts to figure things out & give yourself the gift of transformation. Over time you'll find your vice, your path & your purpose.
And remember—no matter how stuck you feel, you’ve got this. 🌸
Much Love
